Do you still use dimethyl silicone oil produced by pyrolysis?

Hits: 974 img

Dimethyl silicone oil, also known as polydimethylsiloxane, is a hydrophobic silicone material. It is widely used in pharmaceuticals, daily chemicals, food, construction and other fields.
In terms of production technology, dimethyl silicone oil can be divided into "pyrolysis" and "hydrolysis".
What is pyrolysis?

Where do plastic raw materials come from when producing plastic products? On the one hand, plastic particles can be purchased from Petrochemical Related enterprises, on the other hand, waste plastics can be purchased from small workshops. Similarly, the two methods of dimethyl silicone oil basically represent different sources of products.
Pyrolysis, that is, the waste silica gel is re-heated and decomposed into monomer to form silicone oil. The process cost and difficulty of this method are relatively low. According to the different types of silica gel, different impurities may be brought in, which is what we call "secondary refining".

Hydrolysis, that is, SiO 2-Si-chlorosilane-silicone oil from silica ore, will not introduce impurities in the production process. The silicone oil produced is colorless and tasteless. The silicone oil with relatively narrow viscosity distribution can be obtained by adjusting the process according to the need.
