On the afternoon of April 16, the new session of Nanjing University of science and technology education development foundation and the first session of the fourth council were held in the science and Technology Hall of Nanjing University of science and technology. Representatives of the Third Council of the foundation, candidates of the Fourth Council and the board of supervisors, and staff of the foundation Secretariat attended the meeting.

Yin Qun, President of the Third Council of the foundation, delivered a speech on behalf of the Third Council. He expressed his gratitude to the leaders at all levels who have long been concerned about supporting the development and construction of the foundation, the public enthusiasts, and all the directors and supervisors of the third session who have made a lot of contributions to the development of the foundation, and deeply reviewed the touching donation deeds in the construction and development of the foundation. In his speech, he hoped that the new council would be able to carry forward the past and the future, actively explore new modes and new ways of work under the new situation, constantly expand diversified financing channels, further enhance the school's social reputation, and make greater contributions to accelerating the construction of "two first-class" schools.
The meeting first heard and considered the work report and financial report made by Wang Hu, Secretary General of the Third Council. The report points out that since the Third Council of the foundation took office in 2014, the Council has always adhered to the mission of strengthening the contact and cooperation between our school and all walks of life at home and abroad, raising school running funds, rewarding and subsidizing teachers and students of South Polytechnic, promoting the development purpose of our school's education, serving the high-quality development of the school's central work, and helping the school's "double first-class" construction, which has been realized in our work Many improvements and leaps have made important contributions to the promotion of our school's reputation and the dissemination of social positive energy. During the term of office, the financial operation of the foundation was stable and the overall situation was good.
Subsequently, the meeting heard and deliberated and approved the work report of the board of supervisors made by Wang Hu on behalf of the board of supervisors of the foundation. The report pointed out that the board of supervisors carefully studied relevant laws and regulations during its term of office, earnestly performed its supervision duties, and believed that all work of the foundation was in line with relevant laws and regulations of the state, in line with the articles of association of the association, and achieved remarkable achievements and extensive social impact.
At the meeting, the newly revised articles of association and financial management measures were heard, reviewed and adopted, and the Fourth Board of directors, principal and chairman of the board of supervisors of the foundation were elected in accordance with the provisions of the articles of association of the foundation. Zhang Jun, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the University, Zhan Wen, deputy secretary of the CPC Committee, Chen Qian, deputy president of the University, Miao Jianhong, director of the outreach department, and Xu Baitao, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, were elected as the chairman of the board of supervisors.
After the new session, Zhang Jun presided over the first session of the fourth council. The meeting deliberated and approved the proposal report of deputy secretary general and financial director of the foundation, project management system, reception system, vehicle use system of the foundation, 2020 charity activity budget of the foundation and other issues reported by Secretary General Miao Jianhong. After deliberation, Zhang Shihong, director of the finance department, and Ren Hong, deputy director of the outreach department served as the Deputy Secretary General of the foundation, and Ren Hong, deputy director of the finance department, served as the chief accountant of the foundation.
Zhu Xianguo, an off campus supervisor and the main donor of the foundation, pointed out in his speech that the work of the foundation should focus on relying on the strength of alumni. First, we need to create a good alumni donation culture to normalize the alumni donation; second, we need to create a good donation project to build a platform for alumni to donate to their alma mater; third, we need to keep up with the times and use the network platform to do a good job in the external publicity of the foundation.
In his speech, Zhang Jun pointed out that how to better stimulate the vitality of the foundation, pool school resources, enhance social exchanges, enhance the guarantee of school conditions, provide strong support for the future development of the school, and make the foundation become an important element to accelerate the construction of the school's "double first class", which will be the focus of the foundation's work in the next stage. First, target orientation should be high. Focusing on the grand goal of building a world-class university with distinctive characteristics, adhering to systematic thinking, considering the overall situation and planning work, consciously benchmarking the first-class university foundations at home and abroad, in-depth analysis of their own shortcomings and gaps, overall coordination, grasp the key points, identify the "starting point" to catch up, and constantly improve the comprehensive strength and management level of the foundation. Second, policies and measures should be accurate. We should carefully study and understand the relevant national and local policies, accurately grasp the "time" and "trend" of the work of the foundation, find out the positioning and entry point of the work, pay attention to the cultivation of campus donation culture, build a donation project system with school characteristics, create a donation atmosphere among teachers, students and alumni, spread the spirit of public welfare, and promote the healthy and sustainable development of the foundation. Third, service cooperation should be sincere. We need to mobilize internal and external forces, actively participate in and support the work of the foundation, widely publicize and promote the work of the University, give full play to the advantages of the University, provide solid services to the local, enterprises and alumni, deepen the cooperation between the University, the school and the enterprise, so as to expand the financing channels, broaden the social resources, and win more extensive social support for the development of the University.
At the same time, he also stressed that this year, affected by the epidemic situation, the work of the foundation will face more severe challenges. Comrades of the Secretariat should be well prepared for the idea of "fighting hard battles", plan systematically and respond scientifically, so as to ensure that the foundation can successfully complete all plans.
