General situation of Manufacturing Engineering Department
The Department of manufacturing engineering is subordinate to the Institute of machinery and vehicle, which has three ministerial level key laboratories, i.e. "national defense key discipline laboratory of advanced processing technology" and "national defense complex micro structure processing technology innovation center", the "non silicon micro nano manufacturing" Key Laboratory of the Ministry of industry and information technology, the International Joint Laboratory of human vehicle coordination and intelligent decision-making of Beijing, and the major research plan of NSFC“ One joint open laboratory for basic research of nano manufacturing. There are 83 faculty members in the Department of manufacturing engineering, including 21 professors, 33 associate professors, 12 lecturers, 10 experimenters and 7 engineers, 25 doctoral supervisors and 67 postgraduate supervisors. It has five disciplines, including mechanical manufacturing and automation, industrial engineering, aerospace manufacturing engineering, precision and micro nano manufacturing, optical, mechanical and electrical micro nano manufacturing. For a long time, it has been serving the industries of weapons, aviation, aerospace, ships and electronics, focusing on scientific research and personnel training in seven fields including advanced processing, micro manufacturing, digital manufacturing, industrial engineering, laser micro nano manufacturing, detection and control, electromechanical systems and equipment.
Due to the needs of scientific research projects, 7 research institutes of the Department of manufacturing engineering have recruited more postdoctoral personnel. Young talents who are willing to seek development and create common undertakings are welcome to join us. The following is the introduction of each Research Institute:
Advanced processing research institute
The advanced processing research institute relies on the national defense key subject laboratory of advanced processing technology and the Key Laboratory of non silicon micro nano manufacturing industry and Information Ministry to carry out research work related to precision / ultra precision processing. It is a member unit of the national "high speed and high efficiency processing technology and equipment technology" innovation platform and a director unit of the innovation alliance. The academic leader of the Institute is Professor Wang Xibin. There are four professors, four associate professors, one lecturer, three postdoctors and three experimenters. More than 50 people are studying for Ph.D. / Master's degree. It has successively undertaken major projects such as foundation strengthening, major national science and technology projects, youth 973 of the Ministry of science and technology, and key projects of natural science foundation, with an average annual scientific research fund of over 10 million. It has maintained good international cooperation and exchange relations with research and education institutions in Germany, Japan, the United States, Canada, etc. The research achievements won more than 10 awards such as the first prize of National Defense Technology Invention Award.

Micro Manufacturing Institute
Relying on the national defense complex micro structure processing technology innovation center and the Key Laboratory of non silicon micro nano manufacturing industry and Information Ministry, the Institute of micro manufacturing carries out research work related to precision composite processing and assembly technology, and is the director unit of production engineering branch (precision assembly discipline) of China Society of Mechanical engineering. The Institute has 3 professors, 4 associate professors, 1 lecturer, 3 engineers, 2 postdoctors and 2 experimenters. There are more than 40 Ph.D. / Master's degree students. Has undertaken dozens of national, ministerial and enterprise cooperation projects. The research achievements won 5 awards including the first prize of national defense science and technology progress.

Digital Manufacturing Institute
The Research Institute of digital manufacturing is the core unit of scientific and technological research in the field of intelligent manufacturing by means of digitalization, networking and intelligence. There are 2 professors, 5 associate professors and 1 lecturer in the research group. There are more than 50 doctoral, master's and postdoctoral researchers. The academic leaders of the research group are Professor Liu Jianhua and Associate Professor Wang Aimin. At present, the research group has undertaken dozens of national, ministerial and enterprise cooperative scientific research projects, including key / general / youth projects of national natural fund, key special projects of national key R & D plan, etc., with an average annual scientific research fund of more than 15 million in recent three years. The research achievements won 1 second prize of national science and technology progress award, 2 second prize of national defense science and Technology Progress Award / 3 third prize, etc.

The Institute of industry and intelligent system engineering relies on the International Joint Laboratory of human vehicle coordination and intelligent decision-making of Beijing to carry out relevant research work. The academic leader of the Institute is Professor Yan Yan, with 3 professors (including 1 national model teacher, 1 highly cited scholar of ESI, 1 excellent talent of the Ministry of education in the new century), 8 associate professors, 2 assistant professors, 1 senior experimenter, 2 lecturers and 2 postdoctoral students. There are more than 60 Ph.D. / Master's degree students. At present, the Institute has undertaken dozens of national, ministerial and enterprise cooperative scientific research projects, including national key research and development plans, national natural fund and other projects, with an average scientific research fund of 10 million in recent three years. It maintains close international cooperation with Purdue University, University of Oklahoma, State University of New York, Liverpool University in the UK and Munich University of technology in Germany. The research achievements were awarded 10 first, second and third prizes for national defense science and technology progress.

Laser micro nano manufacturing Institute
Laser micro nano manufacturing research institute has long been committed to study the mechanism, method, equipment and application of laser micro nano manufacturing. At present, there are 3 members of the American Society of mechanical engineering / the American Optical Society, the group leader of the general expert group of the national key R & D plan / one of the first batch of national science and technology innovation leaders / members of the science and Technology Committee of the Ministry of education / Changjiang / outstanding youth / 973 chief / 863 subject experts, one Changjiang lecture professor, five young scholars from Changjiang / National Excellent Youth / Central Organization Department, and two excellent talents from the Ministry of education in the new century. The academic leader of the Institute is Professor Jiang LAN. The Institute has close scientific cooperation with the University of Nebraska, the University of Missouri, the University of California, Berkeley and Princeton. In the past three years, the Institute has taken the lead in winning one second prize of National Natural Science, one science and technology innovation award of He Liang and he Li, one first prize of Natural Science Award of the Ministry of education and one first prize of technological invention of the Ministry of education. The Institute of inspection and control, which is a certified member of the world alliance of nondestructive assessment centers, carries out scientific and technological research work related to nondestructive testing and automation control relying on the National Key Laboratory of advanced processing. At present, the Institute has 1 Professor, 5 associate professors, 1 senior experimenter and 4 engineers. There are more than 40 doctoral, master's and postdoctoral researchers. The academic leader of the Institute is Professor Xu Chunguang. At present, graduate students have undertaken dozens of national, ministerial and enterprise cooperative scientific research projects, including major national science and technology projects, key projects and key projects of the national natural fund, international cooperation projects of the Ministry of science and technology, with an average annual scientific research fund of more than 10 million, and won one second prize for national defense invention, one second prize for national defense science and technology progress, and one third prize for each.
