Introducer
Qian Xuesen College of Nanjing University of science and technology is the second college in China, and the first honor college in Jiangsu Province named by Mr. Qian Xuesen, the "two bombs and one star" of our country. As the front position of Nanjing University of science and technology in training top-notch innovative talents and the experimental field to further promote the education and teaching reform, the training mode of innovative talents in the college has achieved good education and teaching results, and has trained a large number of high-quality, high-level research-oriented young talents.
This time, we set up the column of "style of alumni" and invited all the outstanding alumni to share their growth and development experience, so as to guide the students in the school to move forward and create brilliance together!
In 2016, there were 80 graduates from Qian Xuesen college, 85% of whom went to the first-class well-known universities at home and abroad to study for master's degree, and 33% of them chose to study for doctor's degree.

Nantong's engineering majors are very good. You don't need to worry about the employment itself. I would like to share with you about graduate study. The most important thing for graduate students to learn is to read papers. What kind of papers are suitable for the "novices" in senior four and postgraduate one? For the students who have just been exposed to scientific research, they do not have a strong ability to identify papers. At this time, we should pay attention to the citations of a paper. I usually divide papers into three categories. The first category is highly cited papers in Chinese within five years. The second category is the international first-class periodical research direction establishment type paper. The third category is the latest published papers of international first-class journals.
For your major, you should first read the recent Chinese highly cited papers to understand the current development direction and common research methods of the major. When we have a certain amount of accumulation, we can find and try to translate the papers of some founders in this direction in the world. This kind of paper usually does not have too many modifying elements, which is the core content of this direction, and is very suitable for introductory reading.
If you are a graduate student, the next step is to combine the research direction of the tutor with academic research. For doctoral students, they need to further read the third kind of papers, that is, the latest international / domestic papers cited and the latest national / industry hot frontier related papers, to clarify and narrow their research direction and conduct more in-depth research.
