Chen Chuan, female, Han nationality, born in March 1999, is a probationary Party member and a 2017 student of Law School of Beijing University of technology. He has won 4 Undergraduate Scholarships of Beijing University of science and Technology (1 first-class scholarship and 3 second-class scholarships); the second prize of excellent individual and group in the 10th Beijing University Student Moot Court Competition; the second prize of the 2019 "FLTRP Cup" National English debate competition of Beijing University of science and technology campus selection competition; the second prize of the "Century Cup" competition of Beijing University of science and technology; the "excellent" of Beijing University of science and technology "Student cadres" and other honorary titles.
I am Chen Chuan, an example of science and innovation from Law School of Beijing University of science and technology. I am a member of 2017's undergraduate Preparatory Committee, vice secretary of the League Committee of law school and President of the school's English Association. In the "10th Beijing University Student Moot Court Competition" concluded not long ago, I won the provincial "excellent individual award" and "team second prize" by virtue of my performance in the competition field; in the two consecutive "simulated court League of Law School of Beijing University of technology", I first won the championship as a player and guide. As the "new star of science and technology innovation" of the college, my path of science and technology innovation goes deep into the society. My team took "judicial examination reform" as the material, Fang Xuexue won the second prize of the school Century Cup Behind this series of honors, I have the courage to advance in spite of difficulties, and also the rigorous scientific research attitude of Beili legal people.
First come to the fore, try your best to be the best Sanlang
In my freshman year, as a freshman who just entered school but has long been determined to read law, I was full of curiosity and enthusiasm for everything in the "legal Empire". Although it was only the "primary school sister" in the college at that time, although facing the competition from senior brothers and sisters, I was extremely active in participating in the "mock court". I played a key role in determining the outcome of both games. As a witness, I am not afraid of the "aggressive" interrogation of the senior defenders, but calmly and clearly respond to them, and more quickly find out the mistakes of the opponents and correct them; as a public prosecutor, I have a strong demeanor and quite a prosecutor's demeanor by discriminating legal principles and presenting public prosecution opinions to the trial court. After the competition, the judges praised me for my courage of "a newborn calf is not afraid of tigers". A year later, I returned to this initial stage as "event director", and led the team to win the championship with excellent and meticulous guidance and cooperation.
Behind the continuous success is my efforts to remember every key point of the testimony of the witness in the file in the middle of the night. It is also my efforts to consult my tutor countless times and strive for perfection. The competition opportunities are precious, and the number of players is limited, but my mind has never been on fighting for the role. Every time I discuss, I always provide "dry goods" on the ground and take the initiative to record different views of my teammates. My steadiness and diligence have also been recognized by my peers.
Court debate, battle, and competition
With the confidence accumulated in the victory of the simulated court of the college, I responded to the call of the college and signed up for the "10th Simulated Court Competition for college students in Beijing". Under the strict screening of the instructor, I became a member of the "representative team of Beijing University of technology" honorably, shouldering the honor and playing for the college. The competition gathered 40 top teams from universities in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei. I know that there are more difficulties to overcome and stronger opponents in front of me. However, this ignites my hope of "doing is coming" and my will to win honor for the school. In the two games, I still play the role of the core defender and prosecutor. As a defender, I strive to protect the legitimate rights of the defendant and defend his innocence; as a public prosecutor, I make full use of the initiative of the prosecution, and make use of the evidence in the case file to step by step and attack fiercely. The two matches played opposite roles, which not only didn't confuse me, but also cultivated my multi angle thinking. The most exciting part of the competition is the chief judge's temporary question. On the premise of unanticipated equality between the two sides, I tried my best to make the best of my strengths and avoid weaknesses, and grasped the major mistakes of the other side's speech for two consecutive interrogations, which made the public prosecution opinion have no "foothold" in a concise and comprehensive way, and gained the affirmation of "very excellent" from the presiding judge in the Supreme Court. Under the competition field, the team's full preparation of "grinding the pestle into a needle" and the fierce words on the competition field made the North Polytechnic team win the second prize, and I won the "outstanding individual award". At present, I am preparing for the 11th city simulation court competition, and strive to achieve better results for the school competition.
During the competition, there are several final examinations for professional courses. After a competition, I can't wait for a short rest to enter the review state. I will prepare for the competition with my whole heart after the issue of the competition questions. I don't think it's a conflict if I have good endurance and time planning skills. I'm also learning in the preparation - I'm learning from the profound experience of the instructor, the perseverance and selfless support and dedication of my teammates' reading materials, and the preciseness and novelty of the opponent's discussion. The two do not delay each other, but complement each other. In the same academic year, I got the first grade in the whole grade.
"Model division law, swearing to be the best in the world" - the concept of the competition coincides with my legal dream.
Integrate theory and Practice
My path of scientific innovation has never stopped at the mock court, and I love social research in the field of law. When I first entered the school, my team took the topic of "expectations of candidates for judicial examination reform - Investigation of law students in Beijing Fangshan court, Beijing University of science and law and other major universities" as the title, with novel topics and efficient cooperation, and won the second prize of 2018 University Century Cup. It was also the only second prize team composed of Freshmen in the school. I am in charge of interviewing Yu Zhaobo, vice president of law school. This in-depth exchange pointed out the way for me to grow up into a Beili legal person with independent thinking but no loss of feelings, and even sparked the dream of becoming a glorious Communist Party member in my heart. Now, I am preparing to participate in the "College Students' innovation and entrepreneurship competition" with the administrative responsibility boundary of online car Hailing as the material and the social research with the theme of live trial.
It is the most satisfying thing for me to integrate my professional knowledge into my hobbies after class and understand the essence of law thoroughly. In the summer of 2019, I went to Haidian court of Beijing to carry out a one month internship, experience the future professional life, observe the quality required by the post, and was evaluated as "the intern with the highest recognized quality in the office". My speech on the case of India's abolition of adultery - "removing malicious gender labels" won the only first prize of "new generation theory - the 15th student current affairs forum of Beijing University of technology" issued by the Committee of Beijing University of technology of the Communist Party of China. I also went to the school of foreign affairs to represent the school in the simulation of the UN General Assembly, learn from diplomats and expand international horizons.
I am grateful for becoming a legal person in Beili: I am grateful for the platform provided by the school and the patience of the teachers. The Academy's motto "heaven, earth, and benevolence" is my compass for learning and living. My legal road has just begun. My college time is short. I don't have time to say "I can't" or "I dare not". It's a long way to go. In the next few days, I plan to improve my legal English and sign up for the International Criminal Court, so as to take my practice to a higher level.
