She went deep into the poor countryside to send knowledge and hope to the children there; she participated in the voluntary service of the world horticultural exposition and provided service guarantee for the large-scale activities in our country as much as she could; she went to the community nursing home for many times to accompany the elderly and bring them joy; she went to the martyrs cemetery on the Qingming Festival to visit the tombs and tell the stories of the revolutionary ancestors to the people around her In service and dedication, she dyed her youth with enthusiasm and positive energy.
Helping the poor and supporting education, building a dream Village
In the summer vacation of 2018, she actively responded to the school's call and went to the summer school of Beijing University of technology in Qiaogou village, Fangshan County to carry out targeted poverty alleviation, science and education and poverty alleviation activities. Take interesting English as the teaching content, train English audio-visual speaking based on film and television works and other forms, understand English culture, and arouse rural children's interest in English learning through the way of entertaining, learning and enjoying.
Before the first class, she wrote more than 30 meaningful English names on the whiteboard early, told the children about the meaning of these English names, and guided each child to choose their own favorite English names, which aroused the enthusiasm of the children to learn English at once. As an English major, she knows the importance of daring to speak for language learning. She led the children to learn from the simplest self introduction, helped them overcome the shyness and introverted psychology, watched the children with their own choice of English name and the self introduction method just taught by the teacher, and worked hard to complete the self introduction to everyone one by one, she felt heartfelt joy and happiness.
In the course of learning, when it is found that children's pronunciation of some English letters is not correct, such as F, h, x, G, J, etc., she wrote 26 English letters on the blackboard to teach children the correct pronunciation, and through the teaching method of singing English letter songs, the pronunciation of English letters of children is further consolidated.
In order to help children remember words, she patiently tells the extended meaning and the story behind each word, and helps children consolidate these words in the form of English-Chinese translation. At the same time, she carefully designed small games such as vocabulary guessing, hand raising and answering to let children memorize the words they learned.
In one class, she came from "where is the teacher from?"? The relationship between children's summer school and teachers' school? Why does the teacher come here? What are the children here for? " We will introduce students to Beijing University of science and technology, Beijing Institute of foreign languages of science and technology and their majors, as well as Beijing Fangshan Summer School of science and technology and targeted Poverty Alleviation Policies in English. After a basic explanation of vocabulary and sentence patterns, children can introduce their teachers and schools in English, and understand the connotation of targeted poverty alleviation policy more profoundly. The children said that because of Beijing University of technology, their hometown is more beautiful and their life is richer, which also makes her feel proud of her alma mater.
Despite the hardships of rural life, such as heavy rain, water and electricity supply, her enthusiasm for teaching has not been reduced. Through communication with children, she learned that these children usually have brothers and sisters at home. Their father earns money to support their family and their mother takes care of the family. Although they have no more rich experience and life than urban children, they also have a strong sense of family responsibility, lofty aspirations and lofty ideals. After listening to the children's sincere emotional expression, she was shocked by their aspirations and moved by their sincerity. Looking at the notes of "teacher's hard work" written by the children, all the hard work and tiredness are gone. She sincerely hopes to help these children out of the mountain and realize their dreams.
Serve the world garden and protect the ecology
The 2019 Beijing World Horticultural Exposition is the highest level and largest professional Expo in China after the 1999 Kunming World Horticultural Exposition and 2010 Shanghai World Expo. It is a world top horticultural event with great influence and profound significance. After selection, she has become a volunteer of the world horticultural exposition. She hopes to use the most beautiful smile, enthusiastic service and professional knowledge to create the story of young volunteers' ecological volunteer service, pass on the world horticultural idea of "green life, beautiful home" to every tourist, and strive to transmit the green development idea explained by the park to all corners of the world and in the whole society Form the upsurge of propagating ecological civilization and practicing green life.
During the voluntary service, she experienced from the initial expectation and curiosity, to the later adaptation and familiarity, and finally left feeling and nostalgia. No matter it's hot sun or torrential rain, she always carries out service work with a positive outlook and a serious attitude. Visit and inquire, maintain order, translate and exchange. She sticks to her job and patiently solves problems for tourists. There was a rainstorm in Yanqing on July 5, which brought severe challenges to the volunteers of the world horticultural exposition. Although the weather is bad, in order to ensure the quality of tourists' tour, she did not slack at all, shuttle back and forth in the rain, guide tourists and maintain order. Although wearing a raincoat, but still full of rain, trouser legs are also covered with mottled soil. Although every day, her legs are sore because of running, and her knees are stiff because of standing for a long time, she is still consistent, with the most sincere smile to face every tourist and try her best to help them.
On this day, a foreign tourist lost her mobile phone in the international museum. She, from the foreign languages institute, used her language knowledge to actively communicate with the tourist, and quickly got in touch with the staff of other posts in the museum, which soon helped him find the lost items. In the face of the brilliant smile and voice of thanks from foreign friends, she felt the pride and happiness of making a contribution to the normal operation of the Expo despite her hard work and fatigue.
The experience of serving the world horticultural exposition made her deeply understand that volunteer work is actually a kind of unrequited effort and a contribution she can make. She is determined that as a volunteer of contemporary college students, she should strengthen learning, patriotic dedication, be a practitioner and disseminator of the concept of ecological civilization, and build a beautiful China.
