New Standard for Concrete Durability Protection – Application Practice of n-Octyltriethoxysilane Penetrating Waterproofing Agent

In major infrastructure projects such as cross-sea bridges, high-speed railway tunnels, and seaports, chloride ion corrosion and freeze-thaw damage are key factors limiting the service life of concrete structures. Anhui Aiyota's n-octyltriethoxysilane penetrating waterproofing agent, with its superior penetration depth and water-repellent effect, has become the preferred solution for concrete durability protection.

This product's molecular structure contains a long-chain alkyl group with eight carbon atoms and three hydrolyzable ethoxysilane groups. After spraying, it can penetrate 5-10mm into the concrete, reacting with the hydroxyl groups on the substrate surface to form a strong chemical bond. Simultaneously, the long-chain alkyl groups align outwards to construct a molecular-level hydrophobic barrier. The treated concrete exhibits a reduction in water absorption of over 95%, a decrease in chloride ion permeability coefficient by two orders of magnitude, and an increase in freeze-thaw cycle resistance from 300 cycles to over 1000 cycles.

Aiyota's n-octyltriethoxysilane is available in both solvent-based and water-emulsion forms. The solvent-based form offers superior penetration and is suitable for new construction projects, while the water-emulsion form is more environmentally friendly and suitable for repair and reinforcement. The product has passed the testing of JT/T801-2011 "Technical Specification for Corrosion Protection of Concrete Structures in Highway Engineering" and has been successfully applied in key national projects such as the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge and the Beijing-Zhangjiakou High-Speed Railway.
