3-Glycidyl etheroxypropyltrimethoxysilane IOTA-5560 is widely used in the processing of glass fiber reinforced resins, nylon, PBT, and other polymer composite materials. Glass fiber is an inorganic material, while resin is an organic polymer; direct blending of the two results in poor interfacial compatibility, easily leading to delamination, insufficient strength, and poor waterproofing and insulation properties.
Using this product as a glass fiber surface treatment agent can establish a stable bond structure between the glass fiber and the resin. After hydrolysis, the product combines with the hydroxyl groups on the glass fiber surface, and the epoxy groups can react with the resin matrix, improving the interfacial adhesion.
After application, it can significantly improve the mechanical strength, impact resistance, and flexural properties of composite materials, while optimizing waterproofing, heat resistance, and electrical insulation properties. It is suitable for fiberglass products, electronic insulation materials, automotive modified plastics, engineering plastics, and other fields, improving product molding stability, enhancing overall performance, and meeting the quality requirements of high-end industrial manufacturing for composite materials.
