Silicone rubber material is an excellent insulating rubber material with characteristics of ozone resistance and high temperature resistance. However, the biggest disadvantage of this material is its flammability, and flame retardants with good properties are needed to overcome this disadvantage. We have analyzed the preparation and performance of flame retardant silicone rubber in the aviation field, and discussed the flame retardant effects of several commonly used flame retardants on silicone rubber in order to improve the flame retardant performance of this material and expand its scope of application. On this basis, the current research and prospect of aviation silicone rubber materials are further explored.

Because of the special environment and technical requirements of spacecraft, high temperature vulcanized silicone rubber is widely used in aerospace products.
