High temperature resistance mechanism of coating
Silicone high temperature resistant coatings will undergo physical and chemical changes at high temperature, which is a rather complicated process, mainly including:、

(1) High temperature heat transfer from the coating surface to the whole coating;
(2) With the increase of temperature, the silicone resin, as the binder of the coating, will undergo thermal degradation reaction at high temperature and depolymerize into small molecular fragments and resins with low relative molecular weight. The small molecular fragments absorb heat and vaporize into the boundary layer, and overflow from the coating. The low molecular weight resin recombines into a more stable skeleton structure through chemical reactions to form a denser coating, which further resists high temperature erosion.
(3) When the temperature is higher, physical and chemical changes will occur in the components of the coating such as the high temperature resistant pigment filler; The organic silicone resin is further decomposed, the side chain organic groups and the main chain structure is destroyed, completely transformed into inorganic siloxane structure, formed in the fracture place of the active center, and can interact with high temperature resistant makeup filler, these effects will not lead to the destruction of heat resistant coating, but can improve the heat resistance of the coating, the entire coating system occurs secondary film formation. The molecular structure and filler type of organosilicone resin determine the type of chemical reaction and the degree of heat absorption of the coating. The physical changes of the coating at high temperature, such as evaporation, melting, reflection, sublimation and radiation, can improve the heat resistance of the thermal resistant coating.
