Structure and classification of MQ resin

Hits: 354 img

MQ silicone resin is a type of organic silicone resin with a unique structure, which is a three-dimensional spherical silicone grease formed by co hydrolysis condensation reaction between organic silicone compounds containing four functional siloxane chains (SiO4/2, Q) and organic silicone compounds containing single functional siloxane chains (R3SiO1/2, M). Its molar mass is generally 1000-8000g/mol, with a state from viscous fluid to solid powder, hard and brittle, and a wide range of glass transition temperature (Tg).
It is generally believed that MQ silicone resin has a double-layer structure with a compact spherical structure, in which the core is cage shaped SiO2 connected by Si-O chains, with a high density and a polymerization degree of 15-50, and the shell is a lower density R3SiO1/2 layer.
MQ silicone resin has various types due to the different organic groups R on the spherical shell:
When R is all methyl, it is called methyl MQ silicone resin or MQ silicone resin for short; When part of R is H, methyl hydrogen containing MQ silicone resin is called; There are also methyl phenyl MQ silicone resin, vinyl MQ silicone tree, phenyl MQ silicone resin, fluorinated MQ silicone resin, MDQ, MTQ silicone resin, etc. The performance and application range of MQ silicone resin mainly depend on its synthesis process conditions and the type and quantity of organic groups in the molecule, that is, the ratio of the number of M and Q chains; The organic group R mainly enhances the compatibility with other components and enhances the viscosity, while the SiO4/2 chain is mainly used to enhance the strength of the composite material and strengthen it.
Organic silicone adhesives are divided into adhesives based on organic silicone resin and adhesives based on room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber. The former is mainly used for bonding metal and heat-resistant non-metallic materials, and the resulting adhesive can be used in the temperature range of -60-120 ℃; The latter is mainly used for bonding heat-resistant rubber, bonding rubber with metals, and bonding other non-metallic materials. Organic silicone resin is a cross-linked semi inorganic polymer with silicon oxygen silicon as the main chain and organic groups connected to silicon atoms. It is made from multifunctional organic silicon through hydrolysis and condensation, and can be further transformed into a three-dimensional structure of insoluble thermosetting resin under heating or catalyst action. Organic silicone resin can be divided into methyl silicone resin, phenyl silicone resin, methyl phenyl silicone resin, etc. based on the different connecting groups on silicon atoms.
