Usually, a chromite film with high chemical stability is prepared on the surface of cold-rolled steel sheets to improve its corrosion resistance, increase surface gloss and anti-pollution ability. This film is called passivation film or conversion film. Chromate is a highly toxic substance, which has the functions of carcinogenesis, teratogenesis and gene mutation. It has become a huge burden on the environment. The management and supervision of chromate are becoming more and more stringent all over the world.

In order to meet the requirements of environmental protection, Huiweijia Research Institute, led by engineer Chen Gong, set up a silane research group in 2009, focusing on the experimental and technological breakthroughs of silane treatment agents, developed a new type of environmental protection Silane Composite for surface treatment of cold rolled steel sheets. The effects of the ratio of coupling agent and the amount of cerium nitrate on the stability of treatment solution and the corrosion resistance of silane film were investigated by electrochemical and neutral salt spray test methods.
