It turns out that there is a little secret behind soft clothes...

Summer brings a lot of sweat, so many people wash their hair almost daily. After washing, hair remains smooth, light, and tangle-free—the secret is the silicone oil in shampoo. It forms a thin, smoothing film on the hair, keeping it frizz-free.

The same principle applies to the clothes we wear every day. Both natural fibers like cotton and linen and synthetic fibers like polyester are inherently rough and prone to static electricity, losing their softness after a few washes. To improve the feel and durability of garments, silicone finishing is a key process before they are processed. Silicone oil molecules coat the fiber surface, making the fabric soft and smooth while reducing static electricity.

However, conventional amino silicone oils rely primarily on weak physical adsorption to adhere to fibers, much like conditioner, which only temporarily coats hair and loses its effectiveness after a few washes. This is where IOTA-602 (N-(2-aminoethyl)-3-aminopropylmethyldimethoxysilane) comes in. The silane groups introduced during the silicone oil modification process, upon hydrolysis, form silanols (–Si–OH) that form strong chemical bonds with various polar groups on the fiber surface (such as hydroxyl –OH and carboxyl –COOH), further securing the silicone film to the fiber.

The resulting fabric is like a "long-lasting hair treatment": soft, smooth, anti-static, and wrinkle-resistant. Even after repeated washing, it retains its feel and appearance like new.
