Trimethylsilanol (CAS 1066-40-6), as a basic organosilicon raw material, plays an irreplaceable role in polysiloxane systems. This product has the molecular formula C3H10OSi and a molecular weight of 90.196. It is a colorless and transparent liquid with low density, moderate volatility, and good reactivity and processing properties, making it an important basic component of various fine silicon materials.
IOTA provides trimethylsilanol with a purity ≥95% and a flash point of only 4℃, offering high flexibility in the production of addition-type and condensation-type silicon materials. Currently, this product is widely used for end-capping linear polysiloxanes, effectively introducing hydroxyl structures to enhance the further reactivity of polysiloxanes, such as extension, modification, and crosslinking, thereby improving the final mechanical properties and chemical stability of the material.
The product is packaged in Class II packaging, 1kg metal solvent container, convenient for experimental, small-scale, and pilot-scale use. Storage requires sealing, protection from light, and away from fire sources in a cool, well-ventilated environment to ensure stable product performance. A 12-month shelf life is suitable for most R&D cycles.
As silicon materials continue to evolve towards high performance, trimethylsilanol, as a key end-capping agent, is becoming an important choice in the development of more formulations.
