In the interior design of high-speed rail, subway, and intercity train carriages, the flame retardancy, low smoke and non-toxicity of materials, and their mechanical properties are core requirements for ensuring passenger safety. Silane flame retardants form a dense silicon-carbon protective layer during combustion, isolating oxygen and heat transfer while promoting char formation and reducing the release of toxic gases. Tests show that adding 2-5% silane flame retardant synergist increases the oxygen index of polyurethane foam from 18% to 28%, reduces smoke density by 50%, and reduces toxic gas release by 60%, meeting the EN45545 rail vehicle fire protection standard.
