Working principle of electric control silicon oil fan

The fan control of the cooling system determines the stability of the engine operating temperature. As we all know, the best working temperature of diesel engine is usually between 85-95 ℃. With the development of truck engine technology, the design of cooling system fan in engine thermal management system has also experienced many changes, which are mainly divided into three stages: early rigid fan, silicon oil clutch fan, as well as the current advanced electromagnetic clutch fan and electronic silicon oil clutch fan. Today, we are going to talk about the electric controlled viscous clutch fan.

Electric control viscous clutch fan

The structure of electric control silicon oil fan clutch is similar to that of silicon oil fan clutch. The difference is that the electromagnetic valve with electromagnetic coil replaces the thermal bimetal temperature sensing valve of silicon oil fan clutch.

The advantages of electric control silicone oil clutch are: fast response, stepless speed regulation, measurable actual fan speed, unlimited radiator and fan position, and better energy saving effect.

ECU collects the signals of engine speed, radiator water temperature, intercooler air temperature and fan speed, and arranges and calculates these data. According to the PWM theory, ECU outputs the electric pulse command to the electromagnetic coil of the electric control silicon oil fan clutch, controls the opening degree of the clutch valve, which determines the silicon oil quantity of the clutch chamber, and then changes the fan speed.
