Application of polyether defoamer in water-based preparation system

In the process of production and application, pesticides are often dispersed or stirred at a high speed, so high foaming is a common problem in the process of production and application, which can lead to reduced production efficiency of pesticides, difficult to mix and spray in the process of use, and even can not reach the required pesticide dilution and other problems. Therefore, low foam has become a universal demand of pesticides, and various antifoam agents are more and more widely used in the production of pesticide preparations.

Traditional silicone emulsion is the most widely used chemical defoaming material with high defoaming efficiency. However, it is sensitive to external conditions, such as pH and temperature, and may lose its defoaming effect due to degradation in storage and use. In addition, the solubility of silicone defoaming agents in water and organic solvents is relatively low, which may lead to the appearance of turbidity of these preparations when used in some transparent formula systems, such AS emulsion (EC), microemulsion (ME), water agent (AS) and solvable agent (SL). In this study, polyether antifoaming agents were used to control foam in transparent preparation system. The effect of polyether defoaming agent on the transparency and foam volume of the preparation was studied with microemulsion and water formulation as an example, and the change of the transparency and foam volume of the preparation during heat storage was taken as an important index to evaluate the performance of the defoaming agent.
