DAMO: Highly effective interfacial additive for phenolic, furan and melamine resins

Hits: 129 img

DAMO has been successfully incorporated into phenolic and furan resin binder systems commonly used in the foundry industry as a surfactant additive. In phenolic binders, DAMO's amino groups react with aldehyde groups to form a cross-linked network, enhancing sand mold stability and surface strength during high-temperature casting.

Adding DAMO to furfuryl and melamine resin sealants improves wettability and adhesion between raw materials and mineral fillers. Customer feedback indicates that optimizing DAMO dosage can reduce sand mold cracking, increase the yield of cast products, and improve surface finish, reducing defect-causing factors.

Several foundries are evaluating the synergistic effects of DAMO with other aminosilanes, such as A-1120 and KBM-603. Through a collaborative addition process, DAMO can be uniformly dispersed in various resin systems, enhancing the consistency and stability of final product performance.
